In Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France and other Schengen countries, medical and hospital costs can quickly become very high – particularly in the case of emergency treatment, operations or prolonged stays. With Secure Health, offering three levels of cover CHF 30'000, CHF 50'000 or CHF 100'000, your guests benefit from exceptionally high cover for medical expenses abroad, including support with organisation and coordination in the event of an emergency. This means that even unexpected treatment is financially covered.

Who is Schengen travel insurance suitable for?
• If you are inviting guests from abroad to Switzerland or the Schengen Area.
• If your guests require a visa and must provide proof of insurance.
• If you wish to provide the best possible cover for visitors from visa-exempt countries (e.g. the USA, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Australia).
• You wish to insure individuals, couples or families together.
• You are planning a stay in the Schengen Area of up to 90 days.
Travelling with an insurance certificate
Increasingly, travellers worldwide are required to present an insurance certificate with details of the insured persons and the insurance benefits included when entering the country. When you take out Allianz Travel travel insurance, we send you this certificate together with the policy and the General terms and conditions of insurance (GTC). The "Certificate of insurance" is always issued in English.
Schengen travel insurance or standard travel insurance, what’s the difference?
Schengen travel insurance has been specifically designed for foreign visitors entering Switzerland or the Schengen Area. It meets the legal requirements for visa applications and covers only medical expenses, emergency medical assistance and repatriation. Schengen insurance is valid for stays of up to 90 days.
Standard travel insurance, such as single trip travel insurance or annual travel insurance, is, however, aimed at people whose primary residence is in Switzerland and who are travelling abroad. It includes additional cover such as trip cancellation, curtailment, travel delays and luggage cover, as well as breakdown assistance, excess cover for hire cars and travel legal protection.
